National Trails Day ~ Día de los Senderos | Willow Creek | 06.02.12

There will also be the opportunity for a short orientation to get you a free pass to return to the park on your own! Thank you for lending a hand to improve trails at the beautiful Willow Creek People Powered Park, part of Sonoma Coast State Park.
Tasks include clearing and brushing, improving trail drainage, removing invasive thistle, installing & maintaining trail signage, and other maintenance tasks as needed. No experience necessary.
MEETING LOCATION UPDATE!
When & Where: We will meet at 9:00am at the Occidental Community Center (near tennis courts). 3850 Bohemian Hwy, Occidental, CA 95465 - Map here.
Safety: We will have a safety briefing before beginning our work. There will be some poison oak in the worksite – we will take precautions and encourage you to wash promptly if exposed.
¡Venga con nosotros en celebración de los senderos con un día de trabajos comunitarios! Incluye una orientación para recibir un permiso gratis (que sirve como su pase para poder regresar al parque a solas.)
Gracias por su voluntad en mejorar los senderos en Willow Creek, un parque administrado por la comunidad que forma parte del sistema de Parques Estatales. Las tareas incluyen limpiando zacate, quitando cercas desbaratadas y mantenimiento de letreros en los senderos. ¡Todo nivel de experiencia es bienvenida!
Dónde y Cuándo: Reunimos a las 8:30AM en el Centro Comunitario de Occidental (cerca de las canchas de tenis). 3850 Bohemian Hwy, Occidental, CA 95465 - Mapa aquí. Si usted no se siente cómodo en llegar sólo, puede reunir con nosotros a las 8AM en Bayer Farm 1550 West Avenue, Santa Rosa CA 95407 para irnos en un grupo. SALDREMOS A LAS 8:15 EN PUNTO.
La Seguridad: Hablaremos sobre la seguridad antes de empezar. Habrá poquito hiedra pero tomaremos precauciones.
What to bring: (para español favor de leer abajo)
- Water bottle and pack to carry it with you!
- Work gloves (we will have extras)
- Eye/ear protection and sturdy shoes/boots.
- Lunch, drinks, and snacks provided by REI!
We will provide tools, but if you have any of the following, please bring them along:
- Heavy duty weed whip
- McLeod
- Pulaski
- Shovel
- Hand saw
- Pole saw
- Lloppers, etc
- Wheel barrow
Qué Llevar:
- ¡Botella(s) de agua y mochila!
- ¡REI provee almuerzo, bebidas y bocadillos!
- Guantes de trabajo (tendremos algunos)
- Protección de ojos/oídos y botas/zapatos duros.
Habrá herramientas, pero si usted tiene algunos de los siguientes, favor de llevárselas:
- Weed Eater (Podador de Zacate)
- McLeod (Rastrillo con Asadón)
- Pulaski (Zapapico)
- Shovel (Pala)
- Hand saw (Serrucho)
- Pole saw (Sierra con Extensión)
- Loppers, etc (Tijeras para Podar)
