Trail Stewardship Workday

at Rancho Mark West

Saturday, March 4th, 1pm-4pm

sponsored by the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District

Pre-registration is required for this event

This event will move forward in a light rain, but likely be cancelled in a heavy rain.  If the weather looks questionable, please call the LandPaths Outings line (707- 544-7284, then press 1) on Saturday morning by 9am for an update.  If there is no special message regarding this day, it is on as planned.

LandPaths and the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District invite you to join us to help tend and maintain the trail system at Rancho Mark West.  We will not be building new trails, but rather strengthening and stewarding existing trails that are used widely by LandPaths’ youth programs and public outings.

Rancho Mark West - 7125 St. Helena Road, northeast of Santa Rosa.  From Santa Rosa: take Highway 12 towards Sonoma and go left at Calistoga Road.  Take Calistoga Road 3.3 miles up and over a short grade (approx. 5 minutes from intersection with Highway 12).  Turn right at St. Helena Road. 7125 St. Helena Road is approximately 2.6 miles from the intersection with Calistoga Road.  You will know you are almost there when you emerge into a clearing of Christmas Trees on the right.  Turn right into the driveway and park along the right above the portapotty.  Staff and/or volunteers will meet you at the parking circle.

What to bring:
  • snacks and water
  • layers and weather appropriate clothing
  • garden or work gloves
  • Please park around the main circle area just as you enter the property where you will be greeted by staff and volunteers
  • You will be asked to sign a liability waiver.
  • There is a porta-potty and rustic outhouse on the property
  • There is potable water available on the property.
  • No pets or smoking are permitted and absolutely no smoking pets!
  •  Late arrivals and early departures are totally fine!
