Join us on a three day paddle down the lower stretches of the Russian River. At this time of year the river meanders slowly through willows and redwoods passing cormorants, river otters, harbor seals, and osprey. TrekSonoma can think of no better way to foster a love for Sonoma County than getting to know our river intimately. We will begin our paddle at Wohler Bridge and end three days later in Jenner. Each night gather to eat deliciously prepared food, tell stories around a fire and sleep under the stars.

You are welcome to bring your own boat or TrekSonoma has a limited number of boats to lend.  The cost to rent a boat will be $40 for the entire Trek, for a total of $480.  Please let us know if you will need to rent a boat, and be prepared to pay for it upon registration.  Thank you!

A packing list and precise meeting location will be sent to participants at a later date.

Meals:
In the tradition of bringing people together while cooking and eating, this Trek will be fueled by participants and their cooking talents. Dinners and breakfasts will be a smorgasbord of potluck meals and “Stone Soup” crafting. TrekSonoma will provide kitchen gear, stoves, propane, vegetables as available from local farms, oatmeal for the morning, and tea and coffee. Participants will be responsible for their own lunches.

For Who:    This Trek is geared towards people who love to spend hours paddling beneath the open skies and want to learn about the river that is the life of our county. One need not be an Olympian to make the paddle, but be in shape for several days of paddling. Children 12 and up that are comfortable and proficient paddling a kayak are certainly encouraged to join their adult parent or caregiver.
