Description:Join us for a fall birding hike at the spectacular Wright Hill (aka Poff Ranch) just south of Red Hill on the Sonoma Coast. This 1,235-acre ranch is owned and protected by your Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District. The property features breathtaking coastal views from Wright Hill (1,190 feet), extensive wildlife habitat and a colorful history. This property is slated to open as a public park and will include possible future trail connections to the Coastal Trail and it will remain as part of Sonoma County’s coastal “agriculture belt” – with continued grazing. Petaluma River Paddle with Friends of the Petaluma River

Description:Please join LandPaths, in partnership with Friends of the Petaluma River and the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District, for a paddle on the Petaluma River.  We will begin and end at Steamer Landing Park.  This adventure is recommended for paddlers with some previous experience on the water. The route is approximately 3 miles round-trip. This is a Bring Your Own boat experience, however Friends of the Petaluma River do have a limited number of boats for us to use on this day.  Please let LandPaths know upon registration if you will need to borrow a boat. Birding Ramble & Roll at the Petaluma Marsh

Description: Grab your binoculars and join LandPaths and the Petaluma Wetlands Alliance in partnership with theSonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District for an all-access outing at Shollenberger and the Petaluma Marsh, geared towards all folks on foot and in wheels (balance bikes, strollers, walkers and wheelchairs). This outing is geared towards folks interested in taking a leisurely pace with many stops to enjoy the wildlife as we roll/walk around the wetlands. Docents from the Petaluma Wetlands Alliance (PWA) will guide us in finding and identifying the various birds that congregate to this “birding hotspot.” Binoculars will be available to borrow. We’ll tell the stories of the Petaluma Marsh throughout the past decades, as we see firsthand the importance of this biologically diverse ecosystem.
