Wildlife Corridor Volunteer Program

Wildlife Corridor Program volunteers use wildlife cameras on LandPaths preserves to document wildlife movement and patterns.  Volunteers can work either in the field or from home.  Field volunteers are in charge of the wildlife cameras themselves; changing SD cards and batteries and picking camera locations.  Our database volunteers work from the comfort of their own home, identifying animals in photos and adding photo information to our master database.  Time commitment is 1-year.  There is an annual training and sign-up.  Contact LandPaths Stewardship Lead, Erin Mulligan at [email protected] or 707-544-7284 ext. 23 for more information.

IOOBY Volunteer Program

Cirlce Under The OakI

Volunteers help LandPaths staff implement our repeated field trip program, In Our Own Back Yard, (IOOBY). Students visit local open spaces, preserves, and private properties four times throughout the year to explore themes like Discovery and Exploration, Watersheds, Stewardship, and Habitat. By volunteering with IOOBY, you can help kids understand and interpret nature while hiking Sonoma County trails. Teach students about the importance of recycling, composting, and sorting our waste. Explore your local watershed and the plants and animals that live in it. Work to restore native landscapes through hands- on stewardship projects with kids, and more!

Owl Camp Volunteer Program

Owl Camp Teepee Mapache

Owl Camp volunteers help in all aspects of our nature based summer day camp- from singing songs, to leading hikes, to playing in the creek, to crafting natural art projects, overnight programs,  and more. Owl Camp serves kids ages 6-13 and volunteers can choose to work with all age groups or focus in on an age range that interests them.  Volunteer schedules are very flexible throughout our 4 week long sessions. Volunteers are required to be fingerprinted and attend a one day training prior to camp. Interested in volunteering at Owl Camp?

Bohemia Ecological Preserve Hike Docents are instrumental in providing public access opportunities and creating a vibrant People Powered Preserve.  Hike Docents will, after a thorough training process, take on the duties of leading hikes scheduled for the public at the Bohemia Ecological Preserve. Hike Docents will share information about the 1000-acre preserve and guide hikers on fun and informative tours through the property.
