Outing Information

Get up close and personal with organic vegetable and meat production in Petaluma. Inspired by Michael Pollen's "The Omnivore's Dilemma," Tara Smith started Tara Firma Farm and CSA. The farm is protected forever through a conservation easement from the District that includes plans for a 2.5 mile public trail. We'll tour the farm to look at veggies, pigs, chickens, goats and more - with an optional picnic by the pond.

Families welcome; easy walking tour; local meat and produce for sale

The Open Space District protects land in Sonoma County and LandPaths connects you with that land. This program is made possible though a unique partnership between the Sonoma County Ag Preservation & Open Space District and its non-profit partner LandPaths. It is sponsored by the voters of Sonoma County who funded the District’s work with a quarter-cent sales tax, and is coordinated & guided by LandPaths.
