Bayer Neighborhood Park and Gardens is a unique collaboration between Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks and LandPaths. It is a 6-acre urban farm & city park-in-the-making in the heart of the Roseland neighborhood, 1 mile from Downtown Santa Rosa, with old barns, community gardens, and other agricultural aspects that are a joyful relief from the urban environment!
Sit beneath the walnut tree as the kids explore the garden or ride their bikes. Stroll on the walking paths and pause to admire the uninterrupted view of Taylor Mountain. Visit the goats or admire the gardens, ever-changing with the seasons. You can even lend a hand in the garden during our Community Volunteer Hours and take home fresh produce!
Regular Community Volunteer Hours: Wednesdays 1-4pm
Fridays 3-6pm
Third Saturday of every month 9am-12noon
During the Community Volunteer Hours, you can help the garden by pitching in on our projects! Open to the public. Children are welcome to volunteer also, or play in the natural play areas. Bikes, kites, and ball-playing are welcomed and there is a walking path as well as a few picnic tables. A great family activity, a fun place to meet new people, or perfect for youth who need community service hours!
WHERE: Bayer Farm - 1550 West Ave in Santa Rosa (across from Sheppard School). West Ave runs north/south between Hearn and Sebastopol Road in the Roseland neighborhood.
