Explore property: Carrington Ranch
We've rescheduled our outing that was postponed in December due to heavy rain.
Badgers are some of the most elusive of our coastal inhabitants. We'll walk through some prime badger real estate on the District-protected Carrington Ranch, looking for burrows and other signs. Susan Kirks, a local naturalist who has lived among badgers for over 10 years, will share badger facts (& fictions) as we hike a future segment of the California Coastal Trail.
Easy walk & talk; 2 miles; uneven footing; BYO lunch or snacks; families welcome - ages 5+ suggested
The Open Space District protects land in Sonoma County and LandPaths connects you with that land. This program is made possible though a unique partnership between the Sonoma County Ag Preservation & Open Space District and its non-profit partner LandPaths. It is sponsored by the voters of Sonoma County who funded the District’s work with a quarter-cent sales tax, and is coordinated & guided by LandPaths
