Outings Field Specialist
Benji Dambach
Benji Dambach (He, Him, His) joined LandPaths in 2022. As the Outings Field Specialist, he works to create new and exciting outings to connect Sonoma County’s communities with our beautiful natural world.
Benji is from the small town of Lilbourn, Missouri. Growing up, Benji developed a love for the outdoors while camping, fishing, and hunting with his father, who taught him the importance of conservation and stewardship. At the first chance, Benji sought out ways to grow and learn in new environments and set his sights on Northern California.
As an AmeriCorps volunteer, he provided vital labor for non-profits up and down the west coast. While volunteering with AmeriCorps at Walker Creek Ranch in Marin County, he discovered the world of environmental education and fell in love with it.
From Americorps he worked as an instructor for the Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School, guiding teens on backpacking, kayaking, and canoeing adventures. His experience leading with Outward Bound galvanized his love of environmental education and sharing his love of the outdoors with new communities.
Eventually his love of nature and education brought him back to Northern California as an intern for Walker Creek Ranch. There, he led fifth and sixth grade students on outdoor science adventures while navigating the inherent emotional learning that comes with overnight camp. After his intern year, he continued his work in environmental education at Westminster Woods in Occidental.
In his free time, Benji can be found playing his guitar, hiking, or learning to cook new dishes.
