Xóchitl joined LandPaths as Bilingual Education Field Specialist in September of 2026. They are a transdisciplinary practitioner whose studies encompass the arts, architecture, earthstory (alternative to history), ancestral knowledge, and lan(d)guages. They emerged as an educator teaching art following a sense of purpose in guiding youth towards a creative-full just and regenerative future. As Bilingual Education Field Specialist they are invested in teaching and learning in reciprocity with land and multiculturalism.

Xóchitl was born in Tzacuatlayotl (turtle basin), Michuacan (place of fish), Anahuac (land between water), post-colonially known as Sahuayo, Michoacán, Mexico. They were raised and nourished by Irjin lands within the Confederate Villages of Lisjan, post-colonially known as Hayward, California. They are a descendant of Tolteka-Nahuatl, Puréhpecha, Spanish, potentially French, and people of other Nations who have practiced trades of land stewardship, farming, pochtekayotl (trade/commerce), artisanship, building, science, medicine, engineering, tlahkuiloke (scribing) and much more. A student of Tlaneltoka, a millenary lineage of philosophical practice naive to Anahuac guided by nature which translates to, “to be rooted in that which is truth”, they are dedicated to stewarding this ancestral thread of wisdom and transmitting it to our younger generations.

In their spare time they enjoy studying Indigenous languages, dancing, thrifting, and traveling to build relationship with lands, peoples, and places.
