Garden Day at Ocean Song Preserve

Please join us to tend the pollinator and habitat garden at Ocean Song-Myers Preserve in Occidental! Volunteer land stewardship days like this are a good way to experience the preserve, which is closed to public access. Activities depend on the season, and might include pruning, mulching, mowing or other seasonal needs. Your ability will guide the task! The day will be led by by volunteer garden steward Jan Lochner. We are thankful to her for alll the work she does, along with dedicated volunteers like you, to maintain this iconic garden!

Golden Hour Photography Hike

oin LandPaths for a docent-led photo exploration of Bohemia Ecological Preserve. Timed to coincide with the golden hour, when the late afternoon light softens the shadows and the landscape takes on a warm glow, we’ll set out through native coastal prairies and mixed conifer forests. There will be plenty of opportunities to capture the beauty of the preserve using your phone, pocket camera, or DSLR. Along the way, we’ll engage all five senses to discover wildflowers, the creek, birds, wildlife, and the landscapes that define this remarkable stretch of protected land. Whether you are looking for the perfect shot or simply an excuse to spend golden hour on the preserve, this hike offers a memorable way to experience Bohemia’s wild beauty.
